| |
After Breakfast at
hotel, guests will depart towards south, along the 5.000 year old
king’s Highway to Petra, passing through a string of ancient sites.
The first city to discover will be Madaba- “the City of
Mosaic”-,which has been intermittently inhabited for nearly 3,500
years. Tourists will visit the Greek-Orthodox St. George Church
which shelters one of the most famous mosaics in the Middle East:
the Sixth Century vivid mosaic Map of the Holy Land showing
Jerusalem.
Ten minutes to the west is one of the most revered holy places in
Jordan: Mt. Nebo, the presumed site of Prophet Moses’ death and
burial place. From a Platform in front of the Church built on the
site by Franciscan Monks, one can enjoy a breathtaking view across
the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea.
One and a half-hour’s drive towards south, tourists will continue
their journey into history visiting the Crusader’s Fortress of Kerak.
Perched on a craggy plateau at 4,300 feet above sea level, the
majestic Fortress, built in 1142 by the Crusaders to protect the
approach to Jerusalem, represents a fine example of architectural
and military traditions of the Medieval Times. Conquered by Salah Al
Din after a 50-year siege, the fortification came in the fold of the
Arab World.

Petra for check in at their selected hotel, Dinner & Overnight.

[Gorge] that slowly winds through a massive rock wall, the majestic
façade of the so-called Treasury [Al-Khazneh] rises up with a
breathtaking view as if out of a story book as you emerge into the
sunlight. The Monastery [El Deir] and the High Place of Sacrifice
[al Madbah] are among the myriad archeological wonders to be
